Ground Ivy

Ground ivy is a fast-spreading, low-growing perennial weed with scalloped leaves and purple flowers that thrives in moist, shady areas and is notoriously hard to control.
Glechoma Hederacea (Creeping Charlie)
Origin: Europe/ Western Asia
USDA Hardiness Zones: 3-10
Pros:
Ground cover – quickly fills in bare shady spots (some use it intentionally in naturalized areas)
Attracts pollinators – produces small purple flowers that bees may visit
Cons:
Invasive and aggressive – spreads by creeping stems and chokes out lawn grass and garden plants
Hard to eliminate – difficult to pull by hand and often resistant to common herbicides
